About Me

Hi, I’m Evan Parker — a 34-year-old senior software engineer, husband, and dad of two (Owen and Lil ). I’ve been working remotely for over 10 years in cloud infrastructure (Python, Go, DevOps), and I know firsthand how rewarding — and how messy — remote life can be.
I live with my family in North Carolina, a place that gives us both the mountains and the ocean within a few hours’ drive. My wife, Sophia, is from Cartagena, Spain. She used to be a teacher and, after a long parental leave, reinvented herself as a QA engineer. Today she also works remotely. Together, we juggle work, kids, travel, and the constant search for balance.
What You’ll Find Here
Laspi.pro is where I share practical guides, honest reviews, and family travel tips.
- Remote Work & Productivity: home office setups, contracts, rates, tools.
- Gear Reviews: laptops, monitors, backpacks, cameras, kids’ gadgets.
- Family Travel: Spain, Portugal, South America, and road trips in North Carolina.
- Life Lessons: language learning, finances, routines that survive kids’ chaos.
No “guru vibes” here — just tested routines, checklists, numbers, and gear we’ve actually used (and sometimes returned).
How I Write
Every article follows a simple formula:
- Context — what the problem is.
- Case — how we dealt with it.
- Step-by-step — clear actions you can take.
- Checklists/Tables — to save time.
- Links/Tools — resources I trust.
I’ll also add a clear affiliate disclaimer when links support the site (Amazon, Booking, etc.). You pay the same, I just get a small commission that helps keep laspi.pro alive.
Why “Laspi”?
Laspi is about finding quiet, practical spaces — whether it’s a corner of your home office, a small town in North Carolina, or a coastal village in Spain. It’s about building a life that’s lighter, freer, and still grounded.
